The following whole food recipes are principally vegetarian, although ingredients can always be added or
substituted to make them vegan, or even non-vegetarian. (See
pantry basics for information
on customizing these and other recipes to suit your needs).

Veggie Sub Sandwich
Cut French bread or hoagie rolls lengthwise. Spread mayonnaise on both halves of the inside of the bread, add a
couple of slices of cheddar cheese, chosen veggies (lettuce, sprouts, sliced olives, sliced bell peppers, fresh
sliced avocado, sauteed mushrooms, etc.) and drained
veggie vinaigrette.
For Toasted Veggie Sub Sandwich: put cheese on one inside half of the bread and toast both halves in an oven
until cheese is melted. Spread mayo only on the side of bread without cheese; top with chosen veggies and drained
veggie vinaigrette.
