The following whole food recipes are principally vegetarian, although ingredients can always be added or substituted to make them vegan, or even non-vegetarian. (See pantry basics for information on customizing these and other recipes to suit your needs).

Tabasco Sauce
1/2C vinegar
12 Tabasco chilies
1 minced garlic clove
1/2tsp sea salt
1/2tsp sugar or honey

Boil chilies and garlic in vinegar until tender. Combine all ingredients in a blender and puree (add more vinegar if too thick), then return to saucepan and bring to a boil; remove from heat, let cool, bottle and refrigerate.
