The following whole food recipes are principally vegetarian, although ingredients can always be added or substituted to make them vegan, or even non-vegetarian. (See pantry basics for information on customizing these and other recipes to suit your needs).

Shakes & Smoothies
Wash and prepare fresh fruits (if any), then blend with other ingredients until smooth (adding ice and/or frozen fruit last).

* Yogurt may be used in shakes and smoothies in place of, or in addition to milks and/or juices


Banana Berry Smoothie: 1C milk, 1 frozen banana, 1/2C frozen berries
Blueberry Pomegranate Smoothie: 1C blueberry pomegranate juice, 1/2C frozen blueberries, 1 banana
Blueberry Smoothie: 1 1/2C blueberries, 1/2C grape juice, 1/2C blueberry yogurt, handful of ice
Breakfast Smoothie: 1/2C orange juice, 1 frozen banana, 6 frozen strawberries, 5 slices frozen peaches, 6 frozen blueberries, 6-7 ice cubes, fresh mint (optional), pinch of nutmeg (optional)
Orange Julius: 1C frozen orange juice, 1/3C milk, 1/2C ice cubes, 1tsp vanilla
Original Smoothie: 1 banana, 1/2C apple or orange juice, 1/2C frozen strawberries, handful of ice
Peach Smoothie: 1 peach, 1C peach yogurt, 3/4C frozen orange juice
Peaches & Creme: 1/2C frozen peaches, 1/2C orange juice, 1/4C milk, 1/4C frozen cantaloupe, 1/2tsp vanilla, 6 ice cubes
Smooth Move: 1C apple juice, 1/2C strawberries, 1/2C ice, 1/4C milk, 2 bananas
Spring Rain: 1/2 cantaloupe, 1/3 C pineapple juice, 20 strawberries, 3 pineapple slices, 2 kiwis, handful of ice
Tootie Fruity: 1 banana, 1 apple, 1 orange, 3 frozen strawberries, 2 handfuls grapes or blueberries, 8 ice cubes
Vanilla Mach Shake: 1 1/2C vanilla ice cream, 1/2C milk
  For Chocolate Flavor: add 2tbs cocoa or carob powder
  For Berry Flavor: add 1/2C frozen berries
  For Mud Slide Flavor: add 1tbsp cocoa or carob powder and 1tbsp nut/seed butter
  For Strawberry Banana Flavor: add 1/2 frozen banana and 1/4C frozen strawberries
Very Berry Smoothie: 2 frozen bananas, 5 strawberries, 1C blueberries, 1C raspberries, 2tbs berry syrup
