The following whole food recipes are principally vegetarian, although ingredients can always be added or
substituted to make them vegan, or even non-vegetarian. (See
pantry basics for information
on customizing these and other recipes to suit your needs).

Sloppy Joes
4C veggie burger
1C tomato sauce
1C ketchup
1/2 chopped onion
1 diced red bell pepper
1 clove minced garlic
2tbsp brown sugar
1tbsp vinegar
1tbsp lemon juice
1tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1tsp mustard
1tsp paprika
burger buns
In a large pan saute veggie burger, onion, bell pepper and garlic in oil. Stir in remaining ingredients and
simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Split
burger buns in half, lay each
half upside down on a plate and cover with a thick layer of Sloppy Joe sauce (above).
* May use hamburger instead of veggie burger
