Recipes

The following whole food recipes are principally vegetarian, although ingredients can always be added or substituted to make them vegan, or even non-vegetarian. (See pantry basics for information on customizing these and other recipes to suit your needs).

Puddings
2 1/2C milk
3/4C sugar
1/2C vanilla yogurt
1/4C starch
1/4tsp sea salt

Mix together 1/2C milk, starch, sugar and sea salt in a bowl; set aside. Bring the remaining milk to a simmer in a saucepan, remove from heat then mix in starch mixture. Cook over medium, stirring constantly until mixture begins to thicken and boil; reduce heat and simmer 8-10 minutes, still stirring. Remove from heat, stir in yogurt then place pudding in a bowl and cover; refrigerate overnight.


For Banana Flavor: add 1 pureed banana when mixing in starch mixture

For Chocolate Flavor: add 1/2C cocoa or carob powder when mixing in starch mixture

For Vanilla Flavor: add 1tsp vanilla extract when mixing in starch mixture
