The following whole food recipes are principally vegetarian, although ingredients can always be added or
substituted to make them vegan, or even non-vegetarian. (See
pantry basics for information
on customizing these and other recipes to suit your needs).

Lemon Squares
Filling:
1/2C sugar
1/4C flour
1/4C starch
1/4C hot lemon juice
1tsp vanilla extract
1/2tsp rosehip powder
1/2tsp calcium carbonate powder
1/4tsp sea salt
Crust:
1C flour
1/4C butter
2tbsp sugar
2tbsp cold milk
Dissolve starch in lemon juice and vanilla, then mix in remaining filling ingredients and set
aside. Combine crust ingredients, then press into the bottom of an 8" x 8" cake pan and bake 15 minutes
at 350F; remove from heat. Pour filling over crust and bake 20 minutes. Let cool, cut into squares and sift
powdered sugar over top.
