The following whole food recipes are principally vegetarian, although ingredients can always be added or substituted to make them vegan, or even non-vegetarian. (See pantry basics for information on customizing these and other recipes to suit your needs).

Haystacks
2C cooked veggie burger
1C cooked beans
1C grated cheese
1C sliced olives
2 chopped tomatoes
1 head chopped lettuce
1 chopped onion
1/4C taco seasoning
salsa and sour cream
tortilla chips

Mix together veggie burger, beans, onions and taco seasoning. Spread a layer of tortilla chips over each plate and top with a layer of veggie burger mixture, then lettuce, olives, tomatoes and cheese. On the side or on top of that, add salsa and sour cream.

* May use hamburger instead of veggie burger
