The following whole food recipes are principally vegetarian, although ingredients can always be added or substituted to make them vegan, or even non-vegetarian. (See pantry basics for information on customizing these and other recipes to suit your needs).

Banana Fritters
1C flour
1tsp sugar
1/4tsp cinnamon
2 sliced bananas

Mix flour, sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl. Cover bananas completely with the flour mixture, then fry in oil until golden brown. Sprinkle a bit more cinnamon and sugar over top and serve hot.

* Apples may be used instead of bananas
