The following whole food recipes are principally vegetarian, although ingredients can always be added or
substituted to make them vegan, or even non-vegetarian. (See
pantry basics for information
on customizing these and other recipes to suit your needs).

Fruit Leather
2C fruit syrup
4C chosen chopped fruit
Puree fruit with fruit syrup, then spread a thin layer over a cookie sheet lined with waxed paper; let dry in the
sun. Once tops are completely dry, place another sheet of waxed paper over top, turn over and remove waxed paper from
the bottom; let dry in the sun completely. With a sheet of waxed paper on both sides, cut into the desired sizes and
roll up each strip of fruit leather into a cylinder shape; store in a paper bag for a few days. Check to be sure each
strip of fruit leather is completely dry on both sides; if not, dry both sides in the sun longer and store as before.
