The following whole food recipes are principally vegetarian, although ingredients can always be added or
substituted to make them vegan, or even non-vegetarian. (See
pantry basics for information
on customizing these and other recipes to suit your needs).

Fig Bars
1C chopped figs
1C milk
2tbsp flour
1tsp lemon juice
1/4tsp sea salt
pie shells
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large saucepan mix figs, milk, flour, lemon juice and sea salt; simmer 5 minutes
or until thickened. Spread a 1/4" thick layer of fig mixture over the top of a pie shell, then cover with another pie
shell and cut into fig bars; repeat with more fig mixture and pie shells until fig mixture is gone. Seal top to bottom
crusts on sides of each fig bar (leaving ends open); bake 30-40 minutes.
