The following whole food recipes are principally vegetarian, although ingredients can always be added or
substituted to make them vegan, or even non-vegetarian. (See
pantry basics for information
on customizing these and other recipes to suit your needs).

Elephant Ears
Divide bread dough (from salt rising bread
recipe) into portions about golf-ball size and roll out on a floured surface as round as possible (about 1/4" thick). Deep
fry both sides until light golden brown, then brush lightly with melted butter and top with cinnamon and sugar.
