The following whole food recipes are principally vegetarian, although ingredients can always be added or substituted to make them vegan, or even non-vegetarian. (See pantry basics for information on customizing these and other recipes to suit your needs).

Corn Chowder
2C corn
1 3/4C milk
1 diced red bell pepper
1/2C minced green onions
1tbsp oil
1tbsp flour
1tsp soy sauce
pinch of nutmeg

Saute peppers and onions in oil 3-5 minutes; add flour and cook 2 more minutes, stirring constantly. Puree 1C corn with milk, then combine all ingredients in one pot and simmer 10-15 minutes; remove from heat.
