The following whole food recipes are principally vegetarian, although ingredients can always be added or substituted to make them vegan, or even non-vegetarian. (See pantry basics for information on customizing these and other recipes to suit your needs).

Brownies
1C flour
1C white sugar
1C chopped walnuts (optional)
3/4C chocolate or carob chips
3/4C plain yogurt
3/4C brown sugar
3/4C butter
1tsp vanilla extract
1/2tsp calcium carbonate powder
1/4tsp sea salt

Preheat oven to 350F. In a large saucepan melt butter and chocolate or carob chips over low heat, then mix in yogurt and vanilla extract; remove from heat. Separately mix together flour, sugars, calcium carbonate powder and sea salt in a large bowl, then combine and mix all ingredients together. Pour batter into a greased 8" x 8" square cake pan and spread evenly. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick stuck through the middle comes out clean; let cool and cut into squares.

* Chocolate, nut/seed butter and/or butterscotch syrup may be drizzled over top
