The following whole food recipes are principally vegetarian, although ingredients can always be added or substituted to make them vegan, or even non-vegetarian. (See pantry basics for information on customizing these and other recipes to suit your needs).

Homemade Baked Beans
2C cooked beans
1/2C brown sugar
1/2C tomato sauce
1 chopped onion
1 tsp sea salt
1/4C ketchup
2tsp mustard
1tsp vinegar
2tbsp oil

Saute onions in oil for 5 minutes or until almost clear. Mix all ingredients together in a large baking pot or greased casserole dish, cover and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake another 30 minutes.
