The following whole food recipes are principally vegetarian, although ingredients can always be added or
substituted to make them vegan, or even non-vegetarian. (See
pantry basics for information
on customizing these and other recipes to suit your needs).

Alfredo Sauce
1 1/2C milk
1/2C cottage cheese
1/2C grated cheddar cheese
1/4C diced onion
3 minced garlic cloves
2tbsp butter
1tbsp flour
1tbsp dried parsley
1 1/2tsp sea salt
1/4tsp pepper
In a large saucepan saute onion and garlic in butter, then puree in a blender with parsley, sea salt and pepper;
return to the pan. Heat mixture again and mix in flour, then slowly add milk while bringing to a boil, stirring
constantly. Reduce heat, simmer and stir until the mixture thickens; add cheeses and stir until cheese melts; remove
from heat.
