The following whole food recipes are principally vegetarian, although ingredients can always be added or
substituted to make them vegan, or even non-vegetarian. (See
pantry basics for information
on customizing these and other recipes to suit your needs).

Any Fruit Pie
4C chopped fruit
1/2C white sugar
1/2C brown sugar
1/4C water
3tbsp starch
1tbsp butter
pie shells
In a large bowl mix fruit with fruit syrup, starch and butter. Cover the bottom of a pie pan with a pie shell,
then spoon fruit mixture on top of the pie shell, filling nearly to the top of the pan. Cover pie with another pie
shell, then trim and crimp the crust around the edges. Cut a few slits through top of the pie and bake at 400 degrees
for 30-40 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.
For Apple Pie: use apples and apple syrup; add 1tsp cinnamon, 1/2tsp nutmeg and 1/4tsp allspice
For Berry Pie: use fresh chosen berries and berry syrup
For Peach Pie: use peaches and peach syrup; add 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2tsp nutmeg, 1/4tsp allspice,
1/4tsp ginger and a pinch of clove powder
For Strawberry Rhubarb Pie: use 2C strawberries, 2C rhubarb and strawberry syrup; add 1tsp cinnamon,
1/2tsp nutmeg, 1/4tsp allspice and 1/4tsp ginger
