Disease Prevention
Many of the so-called "diseases" we have today are self-inflicted. Animals in the wild do not get sick unless due to
major injuries and even then, it is unusual. Humans on the other hand, are probably the only animals in nature that
will knowingly and even purposely poison themselves. How lucky it is for us then, that living bodies such as our own
happen to be self organizing, self regulating, self healing organisms that if given the proper tools and environments,
can prevent and heal virtually all infections and disease. When one does become ill from infections, degenerative
diseases and other medical conditions not related to injury or genetic predisposition, it is likely the result of only
one or a combination of three causes: Germs, Toxins or Imbalances.
Germs
Germs include bacteria, fungi, protozoa, viruses and parasites. Germs can live in food, water, air, feces, soil and nearly
anywhere else on earth, although many are parasitic in that they prefer the body of a living host to survive and reproduce.
Unlike healthy flora, pathogenic germs are not beneficial but rather harmful to the host. Pathogens can produce toxins,
suppress immunity and detoxification processes, which may lead to imbalances that increase susceptibility to
infections, illness, and in time, the development of degenerative disease. They are most often transmitted from one host
to another directly via sweat, saliva, blood and other bodily fluids, or indirectly via food, drink, toilets, toothbrushes,
telephones, keyboards, doorknobs and other surfaces. Allopathic physicians typically prescribe chemically produced or microbial
antibiotics for killing or inhibiting the growth and reproduction of germs, despite the fact that chemically produced antibiotics
are toxic not only to pathogens but also to humans, that microbial antibiotics (other than healthy flora) can produce stronger,
more resistant "super-germs", and that antibiotics are responsible for over 900,000 deaths so far... but naturally there is a
solution.
The total weight of all bacteria in the world exceeds that of all other organisms combined and our colons house enough
pathogenic germs to kill us, yet it doesn't usually come to this, and for good reason. Pathogens generally only cause harm
if systems of detoxification are already clogged or suppressed, primarily due to imbalances. To help prevent such imbalances,
healthy flora populations should outweigh that of pathogens, more toxins should be going out than in, and other imbalances
should likewise be addressed. If for some reason germs still find a way to infect their host, herbal and/or nutritional
antibiotics may be used, although not in excessive amounts or for an excessive period of time, and they should be
followed with probiotics and prebiotics for a
few days to repopulate the GI tract with healthy flora.
Toxins
Every cell in the body is replaced within seven years (some within a few days), so all cells must be continuously nourished,
built, detoxified, repaired and rebuilt. Cells can in fact live forever in a laboratory, so long as fluids they live
in are constantly changed (detoxified). But our environments and lifestyles are quite different from the inside of a Petri
dish, where exposure to toxins are so much better controlled. Toxins are everywhere and impossible to avoid completely.
We are exposed to them every day, from the foods we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe, the drugs we take, and even
as a result of stress and normal metabolic activity. Toxins include chemicals, petroleum products, toxic metals, prescription
and nonprescription drugs, refined and processed foods, animal products,
excess free radicals, etc. Anything can actually be toxic if used or consumed in excess, even nutrients or purified water.
