Detoxification

Detoxification is a means by which the body neutralizes and removes toxins and waste via perspiration, urination, respiration and defecation. Provided below is a simple detoxification plan that may be used for a variety of different purposes, such as for weight loss, general detoxification, pinpointing food and other allergies, and even to help change unhealthy habits and lifestyles. Making lifestyle changes to break unhealthy habits will not likely happen overnight however, as it takes up to 30 days or more to make or break a habit. Changing unhealthy living habits takes time, practice, and commitment; but if at first you don't succeed, simply try and try again until you do! Granted, many will never completely eliminate animal products, sweets, coffee or soda under any circumstances, no matter how many good reasons there may be for doing so. In addition, we are exposed to many toxins every day that we have little to no control over. Hence, a cleansing and detoxification regimen such as the one provided below is recommended at least once annually.

Remove Internal Germs and Toxins (Day 1-3)

The first step in this detoxification plan is to remove germs and toxins already present via the systems of detoxification (i.e., the immune/lymphatic, digestive, urinary, respiratory and dermal systems). Germs are best removed using immune system stimulants and natural non-microbial parasitic, viral, protozoan, fungal and bacterial antibiotics. Remove toxins with general detoxifers, laxatives (via defecation), diuretics (via urination), decongestants (via respiration) and diaphoretics (via perspiration). Nutrient supplementation with nutrino and additional medicinal properties such as general tonics, nervines, depuratives, antioxidants, hepatics, emollients, antilithics and pectorals (in tea, extract or pill/tablet forms), as well as emollients and exfoliants (for external use on the skin) may also be beneficial throughout the detoxification process. General daily recommendations for the first three days of detoxification include the following:

10-15 minutes of some form of stress reduction such as yoga, meditation or tai chi

8-10 hours of rest each night (when it is dark), and 15-30 minutes of daily sunlight

3C Herbal Detox Tea (equal parts brier rose hip, mullein and peppermint) and 8C distilled water every day. The herbs in Detox Tea provide all the medicinal properties listed above (except exfoliants), although other herbs having these properties can be used instead. Do not use sugar for sweetening, as you have likely been consuming excess sugar for some time; use glycerin or unrefined organic honey instead. Herbs for Detox Tea can also be taken in pill, tablet or extract form rather than tea if preferred.

Fresh air and 30-60 minutes of daily exercise; (keep in mind that exercise is best done in the first part of the day, rather than the latter).

A hot steamy shower every day (to help detoxify dermal and lymphatic systems via perspiration)
